Cervical Foraminotomy


 

Cervical foraminotomy is a procedure performed through a posterior approach to relieve pressure on a compressed spinal nerve as it exits the spine through an opening called the foramen. The compression can be caused by a bone spur or by protruding disc. This procedure in indicated when the compression is located laterally, to the side, of the spinal canal.
